System Shock Looks BetterView All Reviews
System Shock was the first game in the System Shock series, released in 1994 by Origin Systems and developed by Looking Glass Technologies (later to be called Looking Glass Studios). It was followed up in 1999 by System Shock 2.
As part of another pre-alpha demo, Nightdive Studios has revealed even more gameplay material and thus details about the upcoming System Shock remake.
The new videos make it clear that production is making progress. The remake looks better than the original.
System Shock takes players to a space station controlled by a crazy AI. The demo gives us a look at NPCs, like Shodan, among others. Additionally, shooting and stealth mechanics can be examined more closely. However, since it is still a pre-alpha version, there are also various bugs. The developer in the video addresses some of these.
The System Shock remake should be of interest to fans of the original as well as to all other gaming fans. After all, this title paved the way for a new genre that was later taken up by BioShock and other well-known shooters.
It is not yet known when System Shock will be available for purchase. If you are interested, you can already pre-order for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Additionally to the remake, System Shock 3 is in the development under the direction of Warren Spector.
